Why I created this series
As a woman, I love women. Everything they are and everything they do. Women do a lot for others. But there are times, sometimes, when they do their own thing. Sometimes alone, sometimes with another woman. And you can’t really tell what they’re up to. What they think. What they talk about. What they dream of. Where they’re going. What they really want. And that’s what interests me. The unknown of a woman’s mind.
How I painted and how you could frame this painting
I painted these women with pitch black paint called Black 3.0. This paint does not reflect light, which gives it a cool edge. I used raw canvas. The sides are not perfect. I imagine these canvases framed in a wooden, slightly raw frame, with glass. They will suit a living room, kitchen, bedroom—anywhere, actually.
